Educational Testing
I specialize in psychoeducational and school neuropsychological evaluations for school-aged children and young adults to examine suspected Learning Disabilities (e.g., Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disability, Autism, and/or Mood Disorders (e.g., Depression and Anxiety). After gathering data on your student’s learning profile, if applicable, I provide a clinical DSM-5 diagnosis and/or educational diagnoses based on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Additionally, I create tailored recommendations including strategies, accommodations, and interventions to address learning challenges.
The process starts with gathering background information; reviewing school records; interviews with parent, student, and educators; clinical observations; direct assessment in the areas of cognitive and psychological processing and academics (typically two 3-hour sessions); and administration of social-emotional/behavioral rating scales. Written interpretative report and discussion of evaluation results occur approximately two weeks after the last direct testing session.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) are considered on a case-by-case basis.
504 Plan Accommodations
Through educational testing, I provide a clinical DSM-5 diagnosis and suggest accommodations that connects to your student’s learning needs. In a private school or college/university setting, schools may consider documented disabilities and provide a support plan.
IEP Consultation
An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is designed to support your student’s learning strengths and needs through special education supports. Parents may have questions and are not sure what to ask their school team. With a background in school psychology, I can help clarify and provide guidance on how to advocate for your child.
